I seriously never thought I'd join the blogosphere. But had you asked me a few months ago whether I'd be happily married and joyously pregnant I'd have bet against those as well, so in for a penny, in for a pound, as they say.

One feels the need to launch a blog with something profound or hilarious to entice you - yes, you, whoever you are reading this - to bookmark my personal website and come back fairly often, but that's not my style. I am simply me. Like it or lump it, take it or leave it.

Who am I? Well for anyone passing through who wants to know, I'm 21, native of the seaside city of Brighton but of Austrian descent.

Earlier this year I married Daniel, who may well be the only person I refer to by their real name in these jottings, since psuedonyms allow honesty with a safety net. We're now expecting our first child; the 12-week scan has been and gone with no cause for alarm, and we're anticipating with not inconsiderable excitement the arrival of our little one in March 2011.

I should probably apologise in advance if this blog occasionally descends into pregnancy-bore mode; I hope to avoid that pitfall but it seems inevitable that it'll be diary material. Look on the bright side - it can only last six months.

I do live something of a charmed and privileged life; money's not too tight to mention, my phonebook includes a number of A-listers and things tend to be glamorous in my world. These are all reasons why friends have encouraged me to open a public window onto my world, but I also keep confidences. Secrets stay secret with me. But reading between the lines may reveal a clue or two.

So. Here I am, all yours to read, dissect and comment upon. Welcome aboard; I've no idea where the journey will take us, but with any luck it'll be at least halfway interesting...
